This is mostly for my personal preservation of what i've been working on through out the month and how it has progressed.
Byron Bay.
2009 - 2015
Wedding catering
Growing up in Byron Bay, I'd spent my teen years in fine dining at The Figree Tree working in both the kitchen (cooking) and the bar (flirting).
This job taught me a lot about hard work (typically working 60-80 hour weeks..yeah, 16 hour days) as well as the confidence to think for myself and seek out jobs that needed doing.
England
2015
Store manager.
From here I took off to Brighton, England and begun managing a small health food shop and this was where I was introduce to the business side of things.
This role taught me all about managing people and how extremely complicated that can be.

2016
Designer/developer.
After a year of England, I got the first taste of my career in Shanghai, China at The Mailman Group - one of Chinas biggest marketing agencies for western sports companies, working with Nike, Manchester United, American Airlines.
I took up a designer/developer role here, In hindsight I really sucked at it, but I guess they liked having me around regardless?
dubai
2017
Ecommerce manager
On a trip to Dubai to renew my Chinese visa, I was scouted by Amongst Few to run their online store and that's exactly what I did for the next 2 years.
In this role, I was focused a lot more on digital marketing than design and development.
unison

Founder
During a trip home to Australia in 2018, I joined my friends at a birthday dinner, during this dinner I needed to get some cash from an ATM. On my way, I saw a completely packed barbershop, and about 100m from that, another fully packed barbershop and that got me thinking. Maybe I should open a barbershop, so myself and Khalid did.

😷 COVID HITS 😷
Weighing up my options of being stuck alone during a pandemic in my Dubai apartment vs wait it out in my family home in rural Australia. I picked the latter and begun an extremely busy freelancing career as every business needed to launch online overnight.
Ecommerce Lead

After freelancing for some time for Joolca, they made me an offer I guess I couldn't or didn't refuse. I really didn't see myself working somewhere long term, but Joolca are some of the best employers, they look after and treat every member as family, which is a cliche, but in this case is truth.

For years I put off learning 3d design, it's tough, but I finally locked in and learned and in the process of doing that I figured why not 3d print too, and so Studio Tache was born.
These are pot plants with a design I'd never seen but made so much sense to me, with a hidden magnetic drip tray that blends in seamlessly. They had a hugely positive response and I ended up having my garage full of 10 printers working full time and only able to keep up with Melbourne Facebook Marketplace customers.

During my time at Joolca, I ran the email marketing team and I had a constant problem. Hiring an email maketing team, agencies and email marketers gave me thoughtless template designs and so I hired web designers, they constantly hit a wall and out grew emails limitations.
So, I decided to make an email marketing agency, I had a few solid freelancers I knew, so we're slowly chipping away at this problem of boring template email designs.
My cousins came to me with a problem that his small business clinic needed to pay $120 a month just for the license to play music "publicly" in his clinic and jokingly asked me if I can make him an app with music so he didn't have to.
Well, I did over two or three weekends - royaltyfree music, it has heaps of Ai music, which I also felt would sound terrible, but I was blown away by what was produced and now it's playing in businesses all across Australia.
